BBC World Service is an international multimedia broadcaster, part of BBC News, delivering a wide range of language and regional services and working increasingly with other parts of BBC News to serve global audiences. 

BBC Hindi is one of many language services serving audiences in India.  We have a 24/7 website with a very vibrant social media presence as well as a presence on radio and a specific focus on women and young audiences.  This role is based in the BBC’s Delhi bureau, working closely and collaboratively with all teams in that office and with teams in the BBC’s headquarters in London to deliver the best service for BBC audiences.

All Language Services are multiplatform, with a multimedia website and a focus on digital video, text and interactivity for both desktop and mobile platforms, and a daily TV news programme for each service. We aim to make international news relevant to an Indian audience, and bring international perspectives to bear on Indian and global developments.

JOB DESCRIPTION

A demonstrable interest in working in a multimedia environment and in encouraging
audience involvement.

Role Responsibility

The Digital Journalist will be responsible for writing, editing and producing a range of video, audio and digital content for BBC Hindi audiences for our Website, TV, Social Platforms and podcast to the highest professional standards.

You will be required to present content in audio, visual or both for BBC Hindi, this might be live or recorded and exercise editorial judgment in developing story ideas and producing accurate and impartial journalism.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have significant recent experience as a journalist, with a good knowledge of production techniques for Digital, Social and Video platforms.  You will be able to to write in Hindi on current affairs and write scripts and content for digital and social media as well as broadcast, and adapt with accuracy, clarity and style appropriate to the differing audiences and platforms
